Vigor (Dear Leo)

It’s not the notion that nothing  crumbles beneath your shadow or talus

Tell us nothing is bothering you

We are believers of beautiful  storms

And

The gospel that you’ve reached mountains and topped that with conquests or upsets

Preyed up ... and heavily eating heavenly

It’s not the pressure in muscle tones having to tone deaf death threats

Invisible razors hidden in the mane of sharp tongued bluntness

But the indestructible habits

Impregnable spirit

Mighty roar of contentment

Look Ma “I did it!”

It’s the incomplete fetish of grown man success

Stepping on toes right in front of whoever’s getting left

It’s the purest and only form of love and loneliness ..

It’s the way that you humble the God in you by silently blessing God with your humbleness

It’s the vigor of a Lion so faint

Caressing each curve of my tender fragility with the most powerful restraint

Receiving perceptions of your love language untouched by your lips

Your falsehood entangled within my deception groping naked truths ...I lie in your strength

Involved

The sun is failing at hiding
Effortlessly not trying to shine,
Come with wind blowing north of you
Roots attached, shedding all but truth
Trust, there’s some deeply embedded fuckery of sorts
You know like how I carved the outline of my soul
Digging my heart, wasting good blood
Wrapping the beautifully scorned sculpture in non fragility
Your arms don’t even reach on low shelves
And high shelves gives too much credit to worthiness
Because I was never taught simple mathematics
So let’s complicate things
You know let’s pretend it’s pretty
And the brutal ugliness of he’s not that into you doesn’t appear so moon like
For the imaginary Kings are awaiting the Crimson liquor drenched we
The scent of me is too faint
So i drown myself in poignant self love self loathing bullshit my nose wakes up
Before my eyes
Still closed, still blind to imagery so clear
How I can still see the sun shining at its failing attempt to hide.

Flames

Soulmates always having to be thunderstorms
invading beats of hearts
making bad choices
good choices in the eyes
beholding some sort of hope of compatibility..
I surrender my indifference
pity time spent
figuring out the calmest storm.
Teetering in doubts collectively united
storing them in glittery satin ribbon tied boxes..
we should enjoy moments like this..
repeating harmonious fears
neglecting our power  .
Let’s pray...
Combustion of silences,
we face invisible lines and
tongues tainted in white lies
blacken our vision
we stay loving a slow death.

Boi

Inside and out
I’ve imagined sunshiny moonlights crossing paths with black cats
Resting assured the we don’t meditate on thoughts ..
thinking only in sub titles
and its foreign to me that you only see clear shadows ..
blackened moments brighten my day.. imagine that.
In fact ..
how soon we forget the bliss of ignorant sweet dreams
and salty wounds hidden in depths of unspoken memories.

You are not who I pretend to see

Expectancy

Dedicated to my sins
Devoted transgressions to divine law
I prosper in peace
Piecing apart unspoken movement
Conflicted on the erect joy dangling
Engulfing my inner shift
Suffering never felt so good
We drift, I seek air amass the watering
Watered down indulgence
Ejecting a pink silhouette
But you promised me crimson type shit
I digress
We stayed true to two
and one thing for certain False Gods blessed
Clearly undressed,
But to deceive a phantom,
How touching it is to embrace hope
Wishing a motherfucker would just learn to love

I've never

I've never met the gaze of his eyes
And wonder which empty space interrupts our coupling
I read his mind in between lines of quiet
Never meeting the moment
Where his hands shakes credence

We've arrived at future glances and tongues dance in anticipation.
I crave him forcefully.. banging the notion that we are present in a never ending past of not knowing what desire really is..

I've never met the sudden thrust of his whispers .. shadows speaking the unsung love language commonly known to man..rejected and accepted in my hands

We've come further than karma
Now I must wait for fate
How soon a melody cried time in time
Waiting for him to meet my stained skin or laughter
Perusing me in strokes and fondle my inner peace .. I surrender

Never have I ever wanted what I've never.

Oh Africa

Oh Africa

Reaching within in search of my mother

My entire being has been washed before birth
Tampered and smeared in soil
I dig
I find the roots of my blood
But tainted hands are executed
So I live..
Living with an entire lost continent embedded on my lips
My hair longing for mercy
My eyes rebel against me, the devil has raped them to brighten my skin.. Unrecognizable yet acceptable enough to fondle
My breasts erect and full of liquors,
My suns and moons get drunk off rage
I taste the Nile in my cries so i remain tearless
My mother can't help me and I beg for her.
So I close my eyes and scream her name...oh Africa!

SERENDIPITY

And like the seasons
To be predictably unpredictable
We've fallen into each other's sunshine
We've melted into each others cool

Hovering in doubt.. We bend
Fallaciously straightening our curves
The authenticity in our faults
Our brokenness mends... How cruel to be so loving

Time teaches us to cry
Screams silent soliloquies in ardor
And we blow each other in spence
Unfulfilled and so full of the obvious
We ignore soulfully

Thoroughly amazing
Our moments are clear at midnight
Unclear.. Betwixt twilight and dawn
Unawakened by fear..
We share space interrupted

Love has conquered us
Bullied its way toward freedom
Leaving our minds blurry and grey
Carelessly ignoring its silhouette

Should we ever...

Trouble sleeping

Rocks so solid
Arise like certitude
We meld
Complete and...
Uninterrupted truths and such
How can I be so translucent?

My skin so sticky
Like Braille upon your membrane
How could you understand where I'm coming from?
We be like in reverse
Running from palpitating inner thoughts.

No love lost, I suppose
And love so stubborn
It stains crimson matter

Tracing the roots of
My sins to the core of my soul..
I loosen your flow
Boldly tilting the balance that don't exist
In other words, I'm tripping

Leaning to side of indifference
Im stretched so deep
The flood that ensues
Troublesome.
Soul stirring
My Nile has erupted.

I-firmative

Breath....ing
Outside the conception of I never had
Sensations and typos of love
Make it go lustfully and sun settings
I belong

Touching each sleepless thought
Heartache never felt so alive
Waking up to hollow dreams
Walking silently into---passion
Passionately
I belong

The song begins to play our end
Settled in your speechless tongue
Layered beneath broken promises
Hopeless in shattered hopes
Regrets bloom so lovely
I belong

Rebel destiny and grasp wandering air
Trust my graceful silhouette
I lie loosely into the crevices of your certain untruths
Belonging to you.me.we

Moving mountain tops and
Rising rivers we cease to-
Afraid to attach a memory
To nothing more than
Distant whispers
We be longing

Carefully un-placing fingerprints
Intentionally unloving you
Defying sweet things and such
Into city lights and the moon lit country side
I belong

Thinking of two 2 trains
At speeds of harmonious desire
Towards brooks- lingering
I reach waves and oceans
Drowning
At the thought
Of
Us belonging
Simply

I believe life is art. How I grow into you is art. The way I see you is an art form. My gaze is artistically and colorfully composed onto a blank canvas. The way I look at you, the way I walk with you, the way I laugh with you, the way I embrace you, the way I love you, the way I lay with you is creatively and purposefully made into a moment.

Darling, you have to believe that I am not your little accident.... You did not just come upon me. - Vee

Waiting it is

Is it my fault
There is a extended space and time
Lengthened by rhyme
In which my heart yearns your awakened shadow
Gripping for soothing intentions
That ache i long for

Is it my fault
I recite the hymns
Said to be floating adjacent to life
Interconnecting a single tear to a harsh cry
I die in song
And resemble the rebirthed soul

Is it my fault that i love unconditionally
And just like the flower
Expanded and emptied
Completely parched in all its splendor
Watered carelessly
Soaked in irrelevancy

Waiting

To be plucked
Inhaled
And adored

My Heart Resides in Brooklyn

step in a crooked stone fashion, lying in linear direction...kissing gravity atomically, beyond my dimensions grabbing your affection. Fingers tip toeing vertically, hipster, I gyrate sensually to split screen images of head shots, nursing shots awaiting your liquors I suppose.

Unforgotten

We forgot about love…

And simmered between the currents lust offered

The moments in between that battle of falling,

Deeply, momentarily became a faint whisper.

How often does autumn remind us to forget stillness?

And how often does the sun remember the lonely shade?

The freedom of becoming nothing more than what is

What was the end is beginning to forget love

Stirring the souls before the outcome of promises

We never mentioned that hands grasped in togetherness

Completely crumbles inside the ache of longing

We forget about love to just be…he, me …we

Passionately succumbing to the notion of fearlessly forgetting

Because love wants to take the freedom

And run

Stealing heart beats and freeing tear drops

When love is to be remembered and not forgotten

With us

Mutual Understanding

There's beauty
in an imperfect unknown
Where your beginning
ends in my imagination
so flawed,

We were unbroken in anticipation
Where
The conception of lust
understood
that love never happens at all,
we submerged

Simply

My silhouette
was understood by your touch
so deep it plummeted
into a violent passion

Your tongue
understood the ebb and flow
of my Niagara Falls
and the rapture of my inner Nile...
you were consumed in my core
understanding my depth

Begging for submission
Fighting emotional warfare,
demanding my strength
to diminish inside your strokes,
I surrendered

Beating the notion
that you can't reach
my heartless soul
and
caress that ache of longing,
You succeeded

Parting lips

And

Allowing breaths
to lie into each others words
Kissing the untruths

Imploding against exploding secrets,
we came deeply into our understanding
of betrayal

Forgiving each other passionately

Igniting thoughts
that will fondle memories
so recklessly, again
And again
We collapsed
into the heat of the moment

And understood
nothing
about the flame we just created.

Dwell

I dwell in what I imagine your scent to be
Lingering the moments of air
Out and in the realm of my source
Envision the hues of you
Mahogany  like silhouette
Dripping the inner of my emotions
I dwell in what I imagine your soul to be
Craving the fated memories
And moons elude us
Betwixt the suns breath
Beneath the willows weep
Alluring whispers are kept
And I seek
What I imagine

Anticipation

Anticipation

The fragrance of  you  my soul seeks
And heart beats with
Deep sighs til sun takes the moon
Rise and
My eyes speak in past tense
Clearly unsure
But
Unspoken soliloquies erect in my
Position
I await you
My inner thighs dance to the bump of your rhythm
And
I shift in my patience
Anticipation has taken over me
Lately

Daydreaming

Chasing the midnight silence By the glow of the distressed stars The motion of my somber dreams And the breeze of your nearness I graze the spirit of your pitted silhouette Wondering Which blink of your excavated eye, Will I Expire into the gravity of your longing? I do not breathe the air hoping for breath Nor Circulate my thoughts hoping for certainty Within the grasp of our honey suckle vine Dry bleeding the fruits bruised Raping the moments intended And abusing the conception of love Daydreaming …simply daydreaming -Vernette Harris 2012

The Promise

Your promise was "No promises" And My expectation To expect nothing from it all Falling into a black hole No promises has sought me Finding The air is deep, you speak And I suffocate In the swallowing Truly in sadness Running sideways, dazed Paths be in blueness And blackness clarifies That happiness is colorful Like the purples you promised me Caution elopes the breeze And The quick step has suffered And deceased We meet Far beyond Arriving at no promise Expecting to be loved -Vernette Harris

My Moon, His Sky

He is a hard one to love

Say things in multiple silences

And I forgive his inexperience

Multiplying in a cataclysmic

Carefree

Combustion

I can’t ponder his frailty

Rise up my legs

Touching thighs

And be blessed

…thank me later

Oh I welcome your blindness

Freedom deliverance in an agonizing moan

Visualizing complex simplicity

Is unheard of

How insecure be the throne of you

Like do I really walk amongst his tears?

Throw away my own brightness

Stretch my arms to his sky

I wither at the moment he wrestles me

Do I dare leave me there ebbing?

The reason why our world craves an opening

Tide

So it seems

So ever clear, the blue hue is not happy tears

I’ve even shattered the moon in half

Split the screen in my dreams

And nothing would appear

Filter

His fear

A hard one

To love

He is…
