In the midst of an unemotional downpour
I’ve released in candor, my passion runs deep
A feeling found in the crust of scarred tissue
Implanted within my being
And there a core prevails, full
And still
You haven’t realized my poetry
And I’ve spoken to you, heart beat to heart beat
And I’ve walked with you, rhythm to rhythm
And I’ve lain with you, quietly co-existing
With each breath betwixt the moment of silence
And silently we made a connection with our disconnection
We stared into our own eyes and dreams unraveled
Became undone in the frontier of hope
And still
You haven’t realized I died loving you
Until you realize the scent of a crushed flower
Is the fervor rising to our surface of genesis
Until you realize the truest hue of mahogany
Is the perfect blend of our bodies squeezing
Until you realize the gentle brush against my thigh
Is the birth of ecstasy
Until you realize that each breath taken
Is the moment captured in endless thought
Will you realize the depth in which my love flows
For only you
