To Sir With Love... (Poem)

Some things are never what they seem

In the beginning

Commitment

In no way your dream

Having me without the strings

Currently you want to wife me

Marriage is not my reality

Look at me

Did you neglect to study?

My hair is jet black

With light brown roots

Does that make me fake?

Because you didn’t pay attention

To authenticity

Your eyes focused on the beauty

Such a beautiful thing

To be adorned

You were captured

But you tried to keep me

Picked from a bed of roses

Not in your garden

Yet, I was put in your territory

Yes I’m a rose

Of many colors

But my thorns are prickly

Hug…but not tightly

Causing hearts to bleed

I’m so very sorry

And I say that sincerely

Like many woman I do have a dream

My fantasy is not happily ever after

I don’t want you forever

Our time can last a second

And in an instant

Another moment begins

Keep your mind on now

You don’t lose, you win

My affection

My attention

Got you lost in translation

Didn’t mean for you to fall in love

A hole you will be in by yourself

My image in there

Is only an illusion

Lover’s confusion

I stay on the surface

Gazing at love

Climbing in, is just not worth it

It’s a trap

and I’m claustrophobic

I find you irresistible

Devoted

And keen on the notion

Of pleasing you boy

But don’t go falling in love

I’m only here for you to

Enjoy
